Chelsea scout at Hayden FC

	HAYDEN PRESENTATION DAY - DADS MATCH

Hayden Black Under 8's joined in Hayden Youth Association end of Season presentation day held on Sunday 20th May 2007 it was a superb day with trophies going out to a well deserved team.

After the presentation a Dad's v Lads took place after at least a hour's worth of hard fought football. The Dad's took a break and managed to grab a quick burger and a beer only to be challenged by the Under 11's Dad's who having a larger squad hand picked their finest.

However they had not anticipated dazzling Darren who is better known in these parts as "the fox in the box". Sinking two goals in the first half reminiscent of a young Maradona. The defence cleared up at the back and the keeper kept a clean sheet. Despite a suspect ref awarding a penalty (bung allegations were rife).

As soon as the match ended and keen to capitalise on the fitness levels, the Under 10's Dads (who had been relaxing on the touchline in facilities that Alex Ferguson would be proud of), pressured the Under 8's Dads for a prompt kick off. With barely time for the athletes to have a beer to replenish the fluids the game kicked off.

It did not go unnoticed that the Under 10's were fielding three ringers, but out of respect for their elders the Under 8's did not complain. A bit like Liverpool the Under 10's Dad's held on to the ball and tried to play attractive football but did not have what it takes when it mattered. Unable to penetrate the defence, shots were soaring from all over the pitch.

Unlike the Under 8's Dads who hit on the counter and with the "fox in the box" only required one chance to score, the Under 10's now exposed, the Under 8's scored again.

Second half and the Under 10's started to pressurise the ref but the ref was having none of it and allowed the game to flow. The Under 8's soaked up the pressure to remain undefeated without a goal conceded.

The losers, gracious in their defeat took down the goals and picked up the litter to round off a good day.
